Internship/Training / Observership / Visit
IMHANS is a multidisciplinary postgraduate institute with outpatient facilities (no inpatient facilities available). Observational internship facilities are available for UG fourth-year and PG students who are Indian nationals from Indian universities/institutions. IMHANS offers short-term training to regular students from other institutions in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, clinical psychology, psychiatric social work, the Center for Interdisciplinary Brain Sciences (CIBS), and psychiatric nursing through the student placement program. Postgraduate students from different streams of mental health, such as social work, psychology, and psychiatric nursing, as well as those in audiology, speech-language pathology, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy, can opt for the internship program at IMHANS.
The internship program lasts one month, commencing on the first working day of the month. Generally, only two students from one institution are allowed at a time. Interested students should apply through their department head or institution head via email (internship@imhans.ac.in). The concerned institution must forward the applications for consideration for the internship. Institutions authorized applications only accepted. Applications should be submitted to the IMHANS (internship@imhans.ac.in) at least 30 days prior to the requested commencement date of the internship. Once the application is received from the concerned institution, the institution will likely receive a link. The link contains the application form for students to fill out, as well as internship guidelines for students and institutions. It is understood that the institution and the students will follow the guidelines. Once the students fill out the form and pay the fees, they need to mail a copy of the filled form to internship@imhans.ac.in. Fee/intern/month is Rs. 4000 (non-refundable).
